I have not been this excited about sharing a recipe in quite some time.  This Crockpot Bread is easy to make, it’s delicious and I’m so addicted I made it 2 times this week already! The bread is soft, moist and is perfect for dipping in a big bowl of creamy tomato soup or cheeseburger soup!

What is Crockpot Bread?

Crockpot Bread is homemade bread made in your crockpot.  This loaf of bread is soft on the inside, with a crusty top.  I love it because it’s easy to make and tastes delicious.  Here’s a quick video I made to show you how simple it is to make.

Ingredients

Here’s everything you need to make this homemade bread. You probably already have everything in your pantry!

How to Bake Bread in the Crockpot

Pour warm water into a large bowl. Add sugar and mix until dissolved. Add dry yeast and stir. Let sit for about 10 minutes until foamy. I always find it helps to sit it in a warm spot. Add salt to bowl and stir to dissolve. Add vegetable oil. Add flour and mix with hands until everything is combined. Knead the dough for 5 minutes and form into a round ball. Place dough in olive oil coated bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Sit in a warm spot for 30 minutes to rise, doubling in size.  Here’s a before and after so you can see how it rises.  Cut a piece of parchment paper that is the size of your slow cooker bottom and about 2 inches up the side.  It’s important that you go up the sides as your dough will expand (it’s turning into bread!) and you don’t want it to stick to the side of the slow cooker. Additionally, I like to spray the parchment paper with nonstick spray.  Place your dough into slow cooker.  I like to sprinkle rosemary on top too.  Cook on HIGH for 2 hours. Remove from slow cooker and brush a little bit of butter on top.  From there you can serve as is, or if you like more of a crusty bread, you can broil the top of the bread.  To do this, slightly butter the top of the bread and stick it in your oven under the broiler (or toaster oven on broil) for about 1 minute.  Watch your bread like a hawk while you broil as it can burn very quickly.  Mine usually takes about 1 minute.   Now look at this crusty top! I love not only how easy this 2 Hour Slow Cooker Bread but also how it tastes.  It’s soft, moist and delicious! I’ve really fallen in love with this bread recipe and it will be a weekly staple in my kitchen.   This afternoon Matthew was making lasagna for dinner and requested that I make this bread to go along with it.   Whenever you need some fresh bread, don’t stress out and take hours making it, try this recipe!  I hope you enjoy my Crockpot bread recipe!
